Director's Message
On behalf of the Recreation and Youth Services staff, I’d like to thank you- our patrons for a tremendous 2011 year. The 2011 year was our first full year in the new Greater Dayton Recreation Center at Roosevelt Commons and the two beautiful newly renovated Lohrey and Northwest Centers. We managed through great changes in staffing, programming, and getting accustomed to different patrons from all over Dayton inside our new buildings. You gave us great suggestions, helped welcome new citizens, and brought new people to our fitness, aquatic, and recreation classes. We don’t take your business lightly, especially in this current economic climate. You had choices and you chose us; and we are grateful.
As we head into these colder months, you should know that RYS makes winter fun. Staying indoors isn’t the time to hibernate. On the contrary, we offer several ways for you to stay connected, stay active and make good on all those new year’s resolutions. From tiny-tots to hundred-year olds (no, really!), we have something for you. Come out and learn to swim, play basketball, workout, or dance the winter blahs away. We look forward to serving you this winter season
C. LaShea Smith, CPRP
Director
