Winter is suddenly here and the Department of Recreation and Youth Services is here to serve you.  We have recently partnered with the new GetUp! Montgomery County initiative. This campaign is focused on changing the culture of our community to inspire and encourage all of us to live more active and healthier lifestyles. Check out their website at www.getupmc.org and find out how you can get informed, active, and help our children.

To help you "Get Up",  we offer a host of great classes, activities, and programs to keep you fit and having fun through these cold months. Our indoor aquatic programs at Belmont and Dabney pools offer several classes for the new and advanced swimmer. To get a head start on spring and summer fun, you can register now for T-ball and Coach Pitch. We've added some new cool stuff for teens to do at the Bomberger Teen Center too! If you want to keep that New Year's resolution for a healthier you, join in one or more of our new fitness classes at Lohrey or Northwest Recreation Centers.

February is Black History Month and we are proud to present some of the area's best art on the Black experience in America at the Dayton Cultural and RTA Center. Stop by and experience a "Celebration of Heritage."

There's so much more, so please come into a recreation center near you and choose your winter fun! We look forward to serving you.
