Registration and Refunds

Students may register only during registration period. Classes are filled in the order in which registrations are received. Size of classes is limited. Most adult classes last nine weeks, check class description for exceptions.

Full payment for class tuition, lab fee and Riverbend Art Center membership must be made at the time of registration. Make check payable to the City of Dayton. We also accept Visa and Master Card. You may register at the Center or by mail.

The Center reserves the right to cancel a class due to insufficient registration and to substitute faculty when necessary. A full refund will be given if the Center cancels the class. Refunds or transfers are permitted only when requested at least seven (7) days prior to the first class, provided it does not reduce the participation level below the required minimum. A service fee of $15.00 will be assessed. Membership cards must be returned to Riverbend prior to receiving a refund. Refunds will be processed according to the City’s Finance Department’s pay schedule.

Make-up classes are arranged if the Center is cannot open or the instructor is forced to miss a session.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition and lab fees are listed under each class. There is an additional $10.00 fee charged for non-City of Dayton residents. An Administration/Programmatic fee of $15.00, which is included in the tuition fee, helps to cover program development costs. Students provide their own materials unless otherwise specified. Lab fees are charged for materials that are supplied by Riverbend and used for the classes.

Membership

The Program Membership fee of $10.00 is payable once a year and is required for class enrollment. The membership is valid for one year from date of purchase and may be renewed with or without class enrollment by individuals wanting to contribute to the growth and development of Riverbend Art Center.

Studio Privileges

Riverbend Art Center offers current students use of equipment when it is not in use by a class. Non-student members' usage of the facility must be approved by the Cultural Affairs Senior Coordinator on an individual basis. The lab fee is $1.00 per hour or any part thereof, or 75¢ per hour for Senior Citizens with a Golden Buckeye card.

Where is Riverbend?

To reach Riverbend Art Center from 1-75 North, take the Siebenthaler/ Wagner Ford exit (57B), turn left at the bottom of the ramp and continue straight to North Dixie Drive. Turn right onto Dixie, proceed to the first light then turn left onto Siebenthaler Avenue. Stay on Siebenthaler until you see the closed bridge, turn right in the Cultural Arts Complex Riverbend is at the end of that road. To reach Riverbend from 1-75 South, take the Siebenthaler/Wagner Ford exit, follow the curve into North Dixie Drive, proceed as above. To reach Riverbend from Main Street or Riverside Drive, you must detour on Ridge Avenue, which is south of Siebenthaler Avenue. Go east on Ridge, this will intersect with Siebenthaler on the east side of the closed Siebenthaler Bridge. Turn left on Siebenthaler and then right into the Complex.
