We Welcome YOU!
Summer is finally here, and the Department of Recreation and Youth Services is offering a variety of programs to refresh and recharge your mind, body, and spirit. For a complete list of all our summer activities, view our 2009 Summer Guide.
Our two most popular summer programs are our aquatic classes and the area’s best Summer Camps! If you are looking for something exciting, safe, and fun to do for your children, it's not too late to register. Our outdoor pools and spray parks are now open for young and old kids alike, providing cool and refreshing fun in the water.
Spring and summer almost always means baseball and softball for adults and youth. This year we’re hosting the 2009 ASA Girls Fast Pitch Eastern National Tournament July 29- August 2 at Kettering Fields. We are excited about having our local teams compete with national teams right here in Dayton!
In addition to all of the programming, we have some very exciting construction projects going on. Lohrey and Northwest Recreation Centers will be under renovation all summer (both centers will be open during the renovation), which will add more amenities and space to those facilities. In July, the much anticipated construciton of the City's new recreation center will also begin.
Gather the family and come out to our Music Series Festivals at Dave Hall Plaza (there's three to choose from); and to the region's best Fireworks Show on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10 pm.
There’s a lot of great quality, affordable programs and activities for everyone, so choose your fun and spend this summer with Recreation and Youth Services!
